anyone have a resource for making a pattern from scratch? having trouble finding basic draw string pants that fit well and would like to try to make my own. have looked at powells and sewing stores, but no luck.

Wed, November 1, 2006 - 4:27 PMEasiest way to make a pair of basic draw-string pants is to follow a pair of large-ish sweat pants and make a pattern from them. Pay close attention to the rise (that part from your waist down to your crotch) and follow it precisely - otherwise it will either dig in and be uncomfortable, or be too loose and cause chafing.
I do make my own patterns, and base them off already fitting clothing. If you need additional help, please let me know.
