looking for hot pink satin

... and long fringe, of the same color (and a third item noted below). Anyone know of a good place that I can get both for a decent rate? Now that i am finally close to having a dress form [and going blonde again hopefully], I'm going to try my hand at doing Penny Priddy from Buckaroo Banzai. Future, not period stuff, but i have some of that too... I cross the time periods rather frequently [hey, maybe THAT'S why I keep getting headaches].

Bubblegum pink or hot pink... not easy to find. I'll be hitting Fabric Depot tomorrow... hopefully I don't have to harm anyone to get to my preferrred sections of the store. From what it sounds like, it's quite the crowd during their sales.

The fringe will have to be as cheap as humanly possible... has anyone ever dyed the stuff? I may resort to that... but would rather not. Could get disasterous.

~ Also, any anyone know where I can get a cheap Hakama? Another Penny thing.

Thanks!

dying fringe depends on what it's made out of. cotton and rayon will take dye well, but polyester doesn't particularly like to. I've seen a product called dye-na-flow at fabric depot which is basically a liquid fabric paint; I've heard that it will take to polyester without a problem. For cheap fringe, hit some home decorating departments. Wrights used to make their fringe out of rayon, but switched over to polyester recently, so keep an eye on what you're buying. Good luck hunting!
