Well, I posted over in the Craft-Ho's tribe. I checked and found out that renting the community room isn't ENTIRELY free... but if we keep it pristine, I get my undeposited check back. Also, they only rent it out after office hours. So, if we want to meet during the day, we can use my place. We just need folding tables and such.

Here's some of the questions I posed in my other post:

~~~
So, who's interested and what are your opinions?
~Community room or my place? I'm fine with it either way.
~What date? A Saturday or Sunday? During the day it would have to be at my place, unless a third option pops up. I'm planning on being gone from 9/29 to 10/9 (long overdue travel), which includes a convention... it would be nice to get some work done before that trip... but that's pretty short notice.
So, here's some possible dates:
9/2
9/3
9/9
9/10
9/16
9/17
Or into October... Any thoughts?
Suggestions? Ideas? Anyone interested?
    I'd be interested, but first I'd need to know where you are. LOL... I'm in Beaverton, and have no vehicle - SO - I'd need to be able to get there by bus, OR get a carpool over there.
    Sundays are best for me, right now, as I normally have a belly dance class on Saturdays, and occasionally do dinner parties in the evenings...
    Y'all are also welcome to come by and hang out at my place as well. We have a fairly large front room (holds around 4-5 people, if all of us are friendly) and plenty of floor space for laying out fabric and patterns if we wish to do projects...
    As I said, I'm in Beaverton - technically right on the border between Beaverton and Portland, on Scholls Ferry and Allan Blvd. There's a Burverville, and a Taco Del Mar, so we won't starve, and I cook, too. :-)
      Okay.
      Sorry... didnt' put my location. I'm in NE Portland at 82nd and Sandy. Two MAX lines run close with buses running right next to my apartment. So it's easy for public transit. Either the 82nd Ave stop on red or blue or the Parkrose Transit Center on the red.
      If we use the community center it also has lots of open floor space, a large dining table and a kitchenette and a couch and such... but evenings only.
      i want to get my office curtains done this week and then start work on costumes. If Sundays are better for most, then i can go as early, for a small group, as it is short notice, as this Sunday. Saturday I'm hosting a movie night, so I'll be busy. Any suggestions on how to *ahem* supplement my mannequin (using an old bra) to make it have roughly the weight I need it to have to fit things properly? I got the rest of it padded, but that area is rather tricky. I ain't no 32B.
          Well, let's see, September 3rd is about a week and a half away. That's Sunday, maybe in the afternoon. So we have natural light and all that. If that 's too soon for folks who may not have responded yet, that's okay... I'm willing to do this sort of thing more than once.
          I've always been a bit of a hermit (grew up that way) but have an outgoing side too. I want to open up my home to potential friends and build solid friendships... if crafting parties are one way to do it, to share ideas and techniques and all that(not to mention having fun), then I'm willing. I'm cleaning up my office and craft closet right now, organizing it. once this is done, the living room is next. There will be space to lay out cutting boards (I have one... and put it on my bed). And I'm considering asking for a folding table on Freecycle... I'm almost afraid what kind of condition a used one will be in... But new ones ain't cheap. Maybe Big Lots... hmmm...
          So, let's say doing a small group, anyone who can come is welcome. Just let me know in advance. As I'm not THAT trusting yet, I'd rather people send me a private message here to get my address and directions. Well, general directions are no problem... I'm at 82nd and Sandy on the NE side. Both major streets with buses and MAX nearby. Just PM for the actual address. This will tell me how many want to come.
          First Craft Party of Fall
          September 3rd
          starting early afternoon... around 1pm.
          My place (PM me for the address) in NE Portland.
          This gives folks plenty of time to figure out what they want to bring, as well as for me to find a table.
          Does this sound good?
